Accreditation: Ouachita Hills Academy has chosen not to seek the endorsement of any accrediting board or association. Its program is consistent with accredited institutions in terms of curicular quality and verifiable evidence of student achievement (as shown on standardized test scores). Ouachita Hills Academy graduates are readily accepted by state and denominational colleges.
Transcripts: Ouachita Hills Academy issues transcripts of a student's academic records upon receiving a written request from the student or the school the student wishes to attend. Telephone requests cannot be honored. The first transcript is issued without cost, but there will be a $5.00 fee for each additional transcript. Transcripts are not issued for students with unpaid accounts.

Home Schoolers: Ouachita Hills Academy welcomes applications from young people who have been properly home schooled. Standardized test scores are required for students lacking official transcripts from recognized educational programs. Home school classes and grades, when recognized and accepted upon admission to Ouachita Hills Academy, are credited towards a Ouachita Hills Academy diploma; however, the grades are not used in calculating a cumulative GPA.
Academic Probation: Students who have a grade less than a "C-" in any class will be placed on academic probation. This status requires an extra weekly study hall.
Withdrawals - Add/Drop: Permission to enter or discontinue classes must be obtained from the Registrar and apporved by the teacher. A student may withdraw from a class with no withdrawal being part of his permanent record durign the first three weeks of the semester. Withdrawals from classes during the fourth or fifth weeks of a sememster are recorded as "W" on permanent records. Withdrawals from classes from the sixth to ninth week of school will obtain a "WP" or "WF" on the student's record. No withdrawals are permitted after nine weeks, and students not attending during that period will receive a grade based on the entire semester. Students may not enter a new class after the first two weeks.
Graduation Acceleration: Younger students will be strongly discouraged from acceleration. Students desiring to complete their high school work in three years will be permitted to graduate and obtain a diploma providing they:
-
Have a 3.5 cumulative GPA.
-
Meet all Ouachita Hills Academy requirements for graduation. This includes one year of Bible class credit for each year in attendance in an academy, plus one additional year of Bible class.
-

-
Have written parental permission.
-

-

Correspondence Work/Summer School: Students desiring to take correspondence or summer school courses must submit a written request to the registrar prior to enrolling in the course. Credits will not be accepted for anyone who has not followed the above procedure. All correspondence courses must be from approved schools and completed by April of the senior year.
Class Load: A student must be enrolled in a minimum of five classes at all times (excluding choir, music, and vocational training) and may enroll in a maximum of seven. Any exception to this policy will need to be petitioned by the student to the Academic Committee.

Choir and music lesson grades are not used in calculating the GPA. These are included in total credits however.
Grade Reports: Each school year is divided into four periods of approximately nine weeks each. At the end of each period, the student's grades are sent to both the student and his/her parents. Nine-week reports are not official grades but simply an indication of the student's progress to date. The semester grades are final and will appear on the student's transcript. After the five-week point of each quarter, parents of students with a "D" or an "F" in any class are notified.
Incomplete Grades: If, because of illness or other extenuating circumstances, a student has not completed sufficient classwork to earn a grade, he may receive an Incomplete. Incomplete grades incurred in any period must be removed before the end of the following four-and-one-half week period. An incomplete incurred during the last period of the school year must be removed within three weeks after the close of school. Any incomplete not removed in the time allowed will become an "F".
